About the team: The Private Client team focuses on growing Investec's presence in the high‑net‑worth (HNW) segment by delivering bespoke, relationship‑led banking and lending solutions , supported by a transition toward a market‑leading digital platform that enables a seamless, fintech‑like client experience. My Impact: Within this broader remit, the objective of this vacancy is to drive growth specifically through our mortgage offering , using it as a key acquisition tool to attract new HNW clients. This includes day‑to‑day business development and sales account management of mortgage intermediaries to generate high‑quality mortgage originations, while ensuring intermediaries have a strong understanding of our mortgage proposition, target market, product suite and criteria. The role involves proactively developing and growing relationships with mortgage intermediaries, ensuring each intermediary is appropriately authorised to promote our products and operates in line with the FCA's principles of Treating Customers Fairly and Consumer Duty requirements. You will promote our mortgage offering to both new and existing brokers to win incremental business, while also identifying and developing new accounts to drive volume. The position includes organising and attending trade exhibitions, seminars and corporate events, as well as gathering market intelligence and competitor insights to support strategic and tactical decision‑making. In addition, you will review all new enquiries, decline or issue Indicative Terms where appropriate, prepare the required case documentation, and complete a thorough handover to the lending specialist to progress each case through to completion. To ensure your responsibilities regarding Treating Customers Fairly, the Prevention of Financial Crime (including money laundering, identification and reporting of fraud) are carried out effectively and in accordance with the Company's internal policies. What do I need to bring? Relevant selling experience in a business-to-business environment within financial services and mortgage space specifically Previous experience of managing IFA and other intermediary trading relationships, and a track record of successfully selling to intermediaries/third parties. Product knowledge - with the ability to describe them clearly to the personnel within the intermediary channel, as well as developing a clear understanding of Investec's policies and procedures. Presentation skills – able to construct and deliver sales presentations to individuals and/or groups of varying sizes with confidence, conviction and clarity of message. Report writing/diary management – ability to convey key messages in a clear and concise manner in written form, either in formal month end reports or ad-hoc reports as required. Financial understanding – ability to work with figures and numbers confidently.
