About the Role:

Investec UK Bank Technology is looking for a Data and Analytics Solutions Architect to lead and support architecture activities that guide the development and management of our Data and Analytics solutions proactively and holistically. You will play a critical role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions that meet the needs of our organization. The solutions architect will need to have a deep understanding of business goals, value streams, objectives and business outcomes, business capabilities and business processes. The solution architect must be able to provide the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure that solutions meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards. The solutions architect must be able to create deliverables for managing the organization's portfolio of current state and target state solutions.

**Key Roles and Responsibilities: **

• Lead the design and architecture of scalable data and analytics solutions using Microsoft Azure cloud services and modern data architecture patterns including data mesh.
• Collaborate with other solution architects across different domains to ensure cohesive enterprise architecture and cross-functional alignment.
• Facilitate architecture forums, design reviews, and technical governance meetings to drive architectural decisions and standards.
• Evangelize modern data architecture principles, particularly data mesh concepts, across the organization and promote adoption of best practices.
• Develop comprehensive data models across conceptual, logical, and physical levels to support business requirements and technical implementation.
• Apply DAMA-DMBOK framework principles to establish robust data governance, quality management, and metadata management practices.
• Design and oversee data engineering pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and real-time/batch processing workflows within the Azure ecosystem.
• Create and maintain documentation for current state and target state data architecture, including solution portfolios and architectural blueprints.
• Define and execute data architecture roadmaps that align with business strategy and technological advancement goals.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, value streams, and objectives, translating them into technical data architecture solutions.

Technical Skills:

• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft data services (Cloud and Onprem)
• (Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Gen2 Lake Storage, Power BI, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB,Eventhubs, SSIS,SSRS,Tabular models)
• Proficiency in data modelling tools and techniques (ER diagrams, dimensional modeling, data vault methodology)
• Strong understanding of modern data architecture patterns (lakehouse, data mesh, lambda/kappa architectures)
• Experience with data integration technologies, APIs, and streaming platforms
• Knowledge of programming languages relevant to data engineering (SQL, Python, Scala, or similar)
• Familiarity with cloud-native development, microservices, and containerization technologies
• Understanding of data security, privacy regulations (GDPR, Data Protection Act), and compliance frameworks

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture roles
• Proven experience designing and implementing data solutions on Microsoft Azure platform
• Demonstrated expertise in data modeling across conceptual, logical, and physical levels
• Strong background in data engineering principles, ETL/ELT processes, and data pipeline development
• Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK framework and data governance best practices
• Experience with data mesh architecture concepts and implementation
• Track record of leading architecture forums and evangelizing technical solutions
