Monday
Weather
A morning of sunshine and showers (probably qiute heavy), with a foce 4-5 SSW’ly wind. After that, we will have an afternoon of shunshine without the showers, and the wind will veer WSW’ly. This means that there will be a bit of wind-chill, taking the edge off the 20°C max, but that chilly will be noticeably less in Town and especially in the Fermain area. Min temp overnight… 14°C.
Surf and the Water
Another day of big surf (6 foot or more), clean in the moring but choppy in the afternoon. Not bad for windsurfing and kitesurfing either. Swimmers will be best on the east coast, away from both the windd and the swell. Low water will be around 6:15am and 7pm. High water will be 6.7m around 12:30pm.
Tuesday
Weather
A day of two halves, heavy rain in the morning, then mostly dry and sunny in the afternoon. The wind that comes with this will be a force 6 S’ly in the morning and then a force 5 WSW°C. Therefore, the morning will be best spent indoors, unless you like horizontal drenchings. The afternoon, however, will be worth going out for, and the east coast will be the place to head for some shelter. Max temp probably 20°C again. Min temp overnight… 14°C.
Surf and the Water
A better day for for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Not quite so massive for surfing… 4-5 feet and clean in the morning, then quite choppy in the afternoon. Swimmers would be best to save it until the afternoon and then to head to the east coast. Low water will be around 8am and 9pm. High water will be 6.5m around 2:15pm.
Wednesday
Weather
Very similar to Tuesday in tems of the wet morning and the partly sunny afertnoon. Furthermore, the winds that come with it will be much the same… strong SSW’ly in the morning, but probably a little lighter with the WSW’ly in the afternoon. The max temp will probably be 21°C . Min temp overnight… 14°C.
Surf and the Water
Another great day for for windsurfing and kitesurfing. As for the surfing… 3 feet and clean in the morning, picking up to 8 feet and messy by evening. Once again, swimmers would be best to save it until the afternoon and then to head to the east coast. Low water will be around 9:45am. High water will be 6.8m around 4pm.
Thursday and Friday
Weather
Probably some heavy showers to shake off on Thursday morning, but it should be dry for the rest of Thursday and for all of Friday. Winds will decrease and sunshine will increase, so we should hopefully climb the thermometer slightly, with a max of 21°C on Thursday and then 22°C on Friday.
Surf and the Water
The size and quality of the surf is very uncertain on these two days, but I think there will definitely be something half decent to play with, and that may well prove to be a massive understatement. Tides will be low around 11am Thursday and midday Friday. High water will be around dinnertime.
The Weekend
Weather
Dry, withhazy sunshine and a quite strong SE’ly wind. This should take the temperature up to about 22°C and 23°C respectively. The north and east coasts will offer the best shelter, so long as you stay close to the sea walls. Overnight min temps will probably be 15°C.
Surf and the Water
Coming into spring tides again, with a high of 9.3m expected Sunday evening. Highs will be at breakfast time and dinner time. Lows will be at lunchtime. Winds will be beautifully offshore for surfers, but the waves will only be small... 2 feet on Saturday and then 1 foot or possibly flat on Sunday.
The next forecast update will most likely be on Wednesday evening…
