Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 07 October 2026

Wednesday

Weather

A V wet day, with what initially looked like showers now set to merge into persistent rain for about two thirds of the day. Probably clearing around 2 or 3 pm, to be followed by sunny spells and just the chance of one or two brief showers. The most noticeable and downright unpleasant aspect will be the force 5-6 N’ly wind, and the way it makes the 16-17°C temperature feel more like 10-11°C. Overnight, the wind will not use very much, and in that instance it actually helped keep the temperature from falling too low. Only getting down to around 13-14°C but once again feeling cold than that if you happen to be out and about.

Surf and the Water

The kind of day the windsurfers love but surfers hate. As for the swimmers, then those dedicated to a daily dip will really have to go to the south coast to find any shelter at all. Low water will be shortly before midday, 8.3m around dinnertime.

Thursday

Weather

With cooler air firmly resident over the entire region, the sunny spells will do little to alleviate the chill factor of the force 4-5 NW’ly wind. On this occasion in the east coast should offer some shelter as well as the south. Max temperatures will be 15-16°C but it’s gonna feel more like 11-12°C.

Surf and the Water

Another horrendous day for surfing, but great for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Swimmers will find some shelter on the east coast as well as the south on this day. Low tide will be shortly after midday, high tide will be 8.9m around dawn and dinnertime.

Friday

Weather

A noticeably milder WSW’ly airflow (fresh force 5 for the most part), but the flipside of this will be drizzle, mist and possibly some hill fog. The air temperature getting up to around 18°C, by the wind and weather will still be enough to drive everyone indoors.

Surf and the Water

The west coast will actually host some reasonable conditions for surfers as well as for windsurfers and kitesurfers. The wave size being around 3-5 feet. And the east coast will definitely be best for swimmers. Low tide will be around lunchtime, high tide will be around dawn and dusk (9.3m).

The Weekend

Weather

Moderate force 4 SW’ly winds will bring a pretty standard autumnal regime, with only a few sunny intervals to punctuate the cloudy skies, and the chance of some spits and spots of rain or drizzle being equally likely. Max and min temperatures likely be 18°C and 13°C. Town will always be the mildest and most comfortable area.

Surf and the Water

Some real high tides around dawn and dusk, generally 9.5 m. Rideable mediocrity is the best I can offer for surfers, just a sloppy 2-4 foot on the west coast.

The next forecast update will be on Friday or Saturday…
