Monday and Tuesday
Weather
Essentially, the light F3 ENE’ly breeze will bring warm continental air to the Channel Islands on both of these days, but Monday will just be super sunny, and Tuesday will be semi-cloudy, due to the presence of thundery showers in the mouth of the channel. Those showers are very unlikely to actually reach us, but it is worth being aware of the possibility, and maybe getting all your washing done on Monday instead. The max temperature on both days will be around 20°C in most parishes, but maybe 21°C in the far southwest of the Island.
Surf and the Water
Maybe some rideable 1-2 foot surf on the west coast, if we’re lucky. However, the swimming conditions will really be what’s loveliest in the water. Tides will be low in the first half of the mornings, and then high in the afternoons… 7m at 2:45pm on Monday, 7.6m at 4:15pm on Tuesday.
Wednesday to Friday
Weather
A noticeably cooler NNW'ly airflow through these three days. Especially on Wednesday when it will be cloudy and showery throughout. On Thursday, the breeze will relax from force 5-6 to force 4-5, and partial sunshine will also contribute to a slightly nicer feeling, but then it looks as though Friday will be similar to Wednesday again, albeit with the wind backed to a W’ly direction, and the precipitation more persistent and drizzly . The general temperature being around 16-18°C for the maxima and 12-14°C for the minima, but the wind making it all feel as though it’s a few degrees cooler than that.
Surf and the Water
The west coast will generally be best for windsurfers and kitesurfers. The East Coast generally best for swimmers . Low tides will be close to midday, high tides will be around dinner time (increasing 8.3m Wednesday, 8.9m Thursday and 9.3m Friday).
The Weekend
Weather
Moderate force 4 SW’ly winds will bring a pretty standard autumnal regime, with only a few sunny intervals to punctuate the cloudy skies, and the chance of some spits and spots of rain or drizzle being equally likely. Max and min temperatures likely to be a degree or two higher than the previous days, but not really feeling any more special. Town will always be the mildest and most comfortable area.
Surf and the Water
Some real high tides around dawn and dusk, generally 9.5 m. Better conditions for surfers than the previous days, with relatively clean 2-4 foot waves on the west coast.
