Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 20 September 2026

Monday to Wednesday

Weather

Three sunny days, although there will probably be a period of cloudiness on Monday morning and around lunchtime on Wednesday. Each day will feel pleasantly warm for late September, mainly because there won’t be enough wind to compromise the sunshine. Monday will have a variable breeze (virtually flat calm) until a force 2-3 NE’ly kicks in late afternoon. Tuesday will have a light force 2 E’ly all day. Then Wednesday a force 2-3 NNW’ly. Max temps 22°C, 23°C and 21°C respectively. Overnight minima 12-13°C on Monday and Tuesday nights, then probably 14°C on Wednesday night.

Surf and the Water

A couple of clean 2-3 foot surf days Monday and Wednesday, with a tiny little 1-foot Tuesday sandwiched inbetween. The surf obviously being confined to the exposed western spots, whilst swimming, paddle-boarding and kayaking will be fantastic in virtually all locations. Tiny tides on Monday, with a high of just 6.2m around 3:30pm. A little more movement on Tuesday, when the high will be about 6.9m around 4:45pm. Then more again on Wednesday, with a high of 7.6m expected at 5:30pm. Low tides will be in the mornings.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

Sunshine and increasing temperatures again, thanks to the very light breeze returning to a SE’ly direction on Thursday and a S’ly direction on Friday. Dreamy post-equinox summer-like conditions, with the respective maxima of 23°C and 24°C being (although not unprecedented) well above the Guernsey average for this time of year. The nights will be long and clear though, as the harvest moon approaches its fullness, so we can expect relatively cool minima of 13-14°C between midnight and dawn.

Surf and the Water

The surf will be lovely and clean… generally 1-2 feet, but maybe 3 feet for the odd set early Thursday morning and towards Friday evening. Swimming conditions as gorgeous as ever (the water temperature still being somewhere between 18 and 19°C). Tides will be high around dawn and dusk, increasing incrementally from 7.8m on Thursday morning, to 8.8m on Friday evening.

The Weekend

Weather

A couple of cloudier days than all that mid-week sunshine, and also the possibility of some showers (just a slim possibility) pushing up from France on the lightest of SW’ly breezes. Temperatures should still reach a very respectable 22°C each day though, because there will at least be some brief spells of hazy sunshine. Overnight temps will be on the mild side too, probably falling no lower than 16°C.

Surf and the Water

Some fantastic looking 4 foot surf will accompany the gentle cross/offshore breezes and the big spring tides (high at breakfast time and shortly after dusk… increasing incrementally from 8.9m on Saturday morning to 9.4m on Sunday evening).

The next forecast update will be on Wednesday morning…
