Saturday
Weather
A mostly sunny day, but still with some tall bubbly clouds, that could possibly drop a brief shower in the morning and the early afternoon. Winds will be ENE’ly in direction, light force 2-3 in the morning, increasing to moderate force 4 in the afternoon. This wind increase will level the temperature off at 21-22°C, so nothing special in terms of heat, but still capable of a little sunburn, whilst the late summer UV continues to reach 6 between 12 and 2pm. Night time temps will be a little higher than on Friday night, with a min of 15-16°C on this occasion, rather than 13-14°C.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be very small and weak (1-2 feet at the absolute best), and the increasing crosswind will make a mess of it too. Swimming conditions will be best at the north ends of the west-coast bays, and at the east ends of the south coast bays. Tides will be low at 8am and high at 2:15pm (only a tiny 6.3m).
Sunday
Weather
No risk of showers on this occasion, in fact barely a cloud, except for the wisps of cirrus that turn the sunshine a little hazy and make the sunsets more colourful. Winds will be stronger than the previous days though, increasing from moderate force 4 in the morning to fresh force 5 in the late afternoon. With those winds, temperatures aren’t likely to climb any higher than on Saturday, so it’s only 22°C for the max. Milder for the overnight min though, probably dropping no lower than 17°C.
Surf and the Water
Clean 1-2 foot waves (although the 2 might be a bit of an optimistic stretch). Great west-coast swimming conditions too. Tides will be low around 9:30am and high around 4pm (just 6.5m).
Monday
Weather
Monday is a tricky one to be sure about with respect to rain, but nice and easy with respect to wind. Fresh force 5 ENE’ly winds for the most part but possibly tickling strong force 6 at lunchtime. As for the weather… skies will be a mixed bag of cloud and sunshine, but it’s uncertain whether or not the heavy rain will stay in Brittany, or whether it will push as far north as the Islands. If we end up getting a soaking then it probably won’t be until late afternoon, or maybe even overnight. Furthermore, it might well be thundery. As for the temperature, the wind will probably keep the mercury from climbing any higher than 22-23°C, but the air will be inherently warm, so it should still feel pleasant in the more sheltered places.
Surf and the Water
Flat surf and a stronger E’ly wind, so maybe a decent day for kitesurfing and windsurfing. Tides will be low around 11am and high around 5:10pm (7m).
Tuesday to Thursday
Weather
All three days are looking warm and humid, with gentle S’ly breezes bringing bright or sunny mornings, followed by showery (possibly thundery) afternoons. Rainfall might rack up ten or more millimetres per day, so our gardens will be especially grateful. Temperatures likely peaking at 24 or 25°C each day, then falling to 17 or 18°C each night.
Surf and the Water
The surf will be pretty much flat on Tuesday and Wednesday, then 3 feet on Thursday and 5-6 feet on Friday. West-coast conditions should generally be clean, either due to the wind being very light, or from a favourable SSW’ly direction. Tides will be low around lunchtime and high around dinnertime (increasing from 7.7m on Tuesday to 9m on Friday).
The next forecast update will be on Monday or Tuesday…
