Seven day Guernsey weather forecast for 24 February 2026

Tuesday

Weather

Early low cloud (and maybe mist patches) thinning but not clearing off altogether until late morning. Sunny thereafter… reeeally sunny, and with warm air over the Islands we can expect to see top temperatures of 14 or maybe even 15°C in the afternoon, as the force 3-4 SSE’ly breeze decreases to force 2-3. The north and west coasts will be particularly lovely towards the end of the day, with the twilight period looking unbelievably gorgeous as the colours intensify and then fade to midnight blue, with a fabulous array of stars, albeit with a half moon floating above the southwest horizon. Overnight temperatures won’t be especially cool either, with a minimum of 8-9°C towards dawn Wednesday.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean west-coast surf, only shrinking very gradually from 5-6 feet at dawn to 3-4 feet by dusk. Great weather for sea-swimmers, on the beaches that are less exposed to the Atlantic swell. Tidal movements becoming nice and small, with a high of 7.8m around 11am and with low tides shortly before dawn and after dusk.

Wednesday

Weather

Just a little mist or shallow fog to evaporate away through the morning, and then we are into another day of sunshine, albeit perhaps hazy at times, if a lace-curtain of high cirrus cloud happens to drape itself across the sky. Winds will be SSE’ly light F2 to 3 all day, which will allow temperatures to rise at least half a degree higher than Tuesday, so I think 15°C is a reasonably confident forecast for this one. A fabulous spring day to go walking, running or cycling in any location. Overnight, the evening will be just as lovely as on Tuesday, but later on the cloud will thicken and wind increase to a force 4-5 SW’ly, preventing the temperature from falling any lower than 10°C.

Surf and the Water

Super-clean west-coast surf, holding steady around 4 feet all day. Great weather for sea-swimmers, once again on the beaches that are less exposed to the Atlantic swell. Tidal movements even smaller, with a high of 7.1m midday and with low tides shortly before dawn and after dusk.

Thursday and Friday

Weather

A cloudy but probably dry Thursday. There could be a tiny bit of brightness filtering through, but there will also be a pretty equal chance of some light rain or drizzle from time to time. By day, the winds will be SW’ly moderate force 4 for the majority of the time, but maybe just intensify to fresh force 5 in places. By night the wind will be consistently fresh force 6, and it might even step up to strong force 6 by the time Friday morning’s rain arrives. And that Friday rain will only be brief, coming courtesy of a cold front, so by mid or late morning, we should be into clear dry air, with mostly sunny skies and only a few bubbly clouds. The fresh WSW’ly wind holding the temperature steady at 12°C, which will be roughly the same as on Thursday afternoon.

Surf and the Water

Another couple of quality surf days, 4-6 feet and clean on Thursday, then 3-5 feet and semi-clean on Friday). Small tidal movements, with breakfast time lows followed by afternoon highs of 6.7m and 7m Thursday and Friday respectively.

The Weekend

Weather

A little rain is likely both nights and maybe in the early mornings, but probably not through the majority of daylight hours. Those days being partially sunny, with a moderate force 4 SW’ly wind for most of the time. Everything will thus feel very average for the cusp of spring (on the meteorological calendar), with a max of roughly 12°C and a min of about 10°C.

Surf and the Water

Cleanish 4-6 foot surf on the west coast. Good windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions on the north and west. Good swimming conditions on the sheltered east. Tides will be low in the late mornings and high towards dusk (7.6m on Saturday and 8.3m on Sunday).

The next forecast update will be on Tuesday…
