Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Golf Operations Manager to join our team at La Grande Mare. This is a leadership role requiring a dynamic individual who combines exceptional operational, managerial, and event coordination expertise & strong golf instruction skills. The successful candidate will oversee golf operations, lead & manage staff, ensure the seamless execution of tournaments and events & deliver first-class golf instruction. Key Responsibilities Golf Operations Management Oversee daily golf operations, ensuring smooth tee sheet management, pace of play, and guest experience across the entire resort. Responsible for the servicing & cleanliness of all rental items including golf carts, trollies & club hire. Manage retail operations, merchandising support, and inventory oversight as required. Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and golf course policies. Collaborate with the Managing Director and resort leadership on operational improvements and strategic initiatives. Liaises directly with the Agronomy team with daily operational procedures. Staff Leadership Lead, supervise, train, and motivate all golf operations staff, including assistants, starters, marshals, pro shop & GPC personnel. Prepare staff schedules to ensure efficient coverage across all golf operations. Conduct performance reviews and support ongoing staff development. Foster a professional, service-oriented team culture aligned with La Grande Mare vision. Event & Tournament Management Work closely with the project management team to plan, coordinate, and oversee golf tournaments, corporate outings, and special events. Coordinate event logistics including registration, scoring, prize presentations, and oncourse setup. Liaise with guests, sponsors, and other resort departments to ensure successful event delivery. Maintain high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction during all golf events. Golf Instruction & Player Development Deliver high-quality individual and group golf instruction. Promote and grow lesson participation through local engagement and guest outreach. Work with the Director of Performance to grow the reputation and reach of the Golf Performance Centre. Develop a comprehensive junior scholarship program at the Golf Performance Centre. Candidate Requirements PGA qualification or equivalent professional golf certification preferred. Proven experience in golf instruction, golf operations, and team leadership. Strong organisational and event management capabilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a polished, professional presence. Ability to thrive in a high-service luxury hospitality environment.
