Electrical Apprentice

The States of Guernsey are looking for a Electrical Apprentice to join the team at States Property Unit. The post holder will be expected to, under the supervision of a qualified and time served Electrician, assist and carry out routine maintenance, remedial and improvement works across the properties and sites owned or operated by SPU. The postholder will work on varied electrical systems, this includes mechanical machinery such as water pumps, ventilation motors, laundry machines, door access systems, general lighting, power and generator distribution systems, and areas such as boiler and plant rooms, workshops, administration offices, medical wards, and theatres. The postholder will undertake training at the College of Further Education on a day release basis as part of the States Registered Apprenticeship scheme to obtain a City & Guilds qualification in electrotechnical systems. They will be based at the PEH but may at times move to different departments within SPU, this would be for a short period to gain experience in different areas of the SPU portfolio.
