FTC Fibre Installation Technician

We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a full-time fixed-term position until 31 December 2026, offering a fantastic opportunity for someone with good practical or DIY skills and a problem-solving approach to learn new technical skills from the ground up. No previous technical or engineering experience is required, as full training is provided. This role is ideal for anyone looking for a change of direction, returning to work, or keen to build new skills while deciding their next career step! Location Guernsey , Channel Islands Duties for this role include, but are not limited to: Supporting and assisting with the installation and maintenance of fibre installations. Carrying out site visits and liaising with customers in their homes or on-site. Installing and maintaining telephone and connectivity equipment. Working both indoors and outdoors, including safe use of ladders and climbing equipment if needed. Managing daily schedules and completing work to agreed targets. Following Health & Safety, Data Protection, and security procedures. Supporting shift patterns, including occasional evenings or weekends. Skills / Qualifications The ideal candidate will have good practical or DIY skills and a hands-on approach, with a natural ability to problem-solve and enjoy fixing, building or working things out. They will be comfortable working outdoors and at height, with training provided, and will bring strong communication skills alongside a friendly, customer-focused attitude. A willingness to learn new technical skills is essential, with no previous engineering experience required. The successful candidate will be proactive and reliable, with good attention to detail, and must hold a full Category B driving licence.
