Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain the safe and efficient operation of offices, exchanges, and data centre environments.
- Carry out daily data centre walk rounds to ensure compliance with internal policies and service levels.
- Identify, escalate, and resolve facilities issues using internal systems.
- Carry out hands-and-eyes support for customers and internal teams as required.
- Ensure critical areas remain secure, tidy, and compliant with fire, safety, and evacuation standards.
- Manage the isolation and de-isolation of alarms and fire suppression systems, coordinating contractors where required.
- Participate in an on-call rota to support out-of-hours facilities issues.
- Coordinate contractor access, permits to work, and security authorisations.
- Support maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems and wider facilities services.
- Maintain registers and records, including legionella risk registers and planned preventative maintenance schedules.
- Support facilities-related projects, audits, and business cases as required.
- Record utilities data to support sustainability and carbon reporting initiatives.
Skills / Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a facilities, technical, or critical environment and be comfortable operating independently. You will be organised, proactive, and confident communicating with a range of stakeholders. This role suits someone with a strong safety mindset, technical awareness, and a practical approach to maintaining secure, high-performing facilities. Candidates must also hold a valid current driving license.
