Commercial Our client is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their team, working primarily across the Channel Islands. This role involves delivering a full spectrum of building surveying services within a commercial environment, including Dilapidations, Technical Due Diligence, Defect Diagnosis, Project Management, and Contract Administration, often within office settings. The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively, with primary location responsibilities in either Guernsey or Jersey. This position will require some time out of the office to attend client meetings, inspections, and site assessments, along with some inter-island travel to support team activities. Our client offers both formal and informal training opportunities, enabling continuous professional development. The Building Surveyor will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery and managing various strategic projects. Job Duties:

Prepare and present fee proposals to current and prospective clients. Provide client advice across a wide range of building surveying services, including Technical Due Diligence and Dilapidations. Undertake strategic project planning encompassing procurement routes, design management, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies. Generate and deliver professional reports, find documentation, and manage project delivery timelines. Administer contracts, particularly within the JCT suite of contracts. Collaborate with professional teams to present comprehensive information for client consideration. Attend industry events as a representative, enhancing the company profile and personal networking opportunities. Support colleagues in the delivery of building surveying and project management services, stepping in during any absences. Actively contribute to team discussions and initiatives aimed at achieving business plan objectives. Uphold the company's values while reinforcing client-focused service.

Job Requirements:

A vocational degree in Building Surveying, Construction, or equivalent. MRICS qualification or a commitment to attaining this status. Previous experience delivering property advice and successful projects in the Channel Islands. A strong commercial awareness with the ability to maintain financial and operational oversight. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with clients and team members. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving and support. A keen learner with a commitment to ongoing professional development. Strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to influence others positively. Organisational skills, with a focus on detail and timely completion of tasks.
