Responsibilities
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Acting as the consultant, taking responsibility for the organisation of work within the client team.
Assisting in the preparation of calculations for a range of actuarial valuations and consultancy services for our occupational pension scheme clients.
Scrutinising calculations that are required to support the advice given to clients.
Performing approximate checks on calculations and investigating reasons for movement in liabilities or funding levels.
Scrutinising reports and letters to communicate results to clients.
Presenting results to clients and attending client meetings.
Providing support to junior members of staff, allocating workflows and providing training and support as appropriate.
Managing a number of client references and ensuring timely completion of reports and ad hoc work as required.
Providing support to Partners and managers, as required.
Skills / Qualifications
An intermediate use of word, excel and email. with effective communication, delegation and teamwork skills, and high attention to detail, along with heightened organisation skills, the confidence to present work to managers and partners in a coherent manner, and the ability to work to deadlines are essential to the role. Those with experience of working with defined benefit pension schemes and knowledge of UK pensions regulations, are desirable but not essential.
